Buem Yalikavak
Housing
2022
When designing a detached house project in Bodrum's unique context, the geographical structure, climatic conditions, and characteristic features of the region must be taken into consideration. Buem Yalıkavak is a residential complex designed on a sloping area. Taking advantage of the sloping terrain, terraced structures were designed to maximize the view. Comprising a total of 11 villas, the project is located in a high position in the Yalıkavak region of Bodrum. Dominating the view is a key factor in this project. The design was shaped by the plan, ensuring that this expansive and serene sea view is felt from the moment one enters the buildings and throughout all areas.
A terraced layout was preferred to optimize natural light and wind flow. Due to the slope of the site, differences in elevation occurred in the buildings, resulting in different entrances. While living areas remain below ground level, terraces were designed in the exposed parts. Material choices and landscape design also supported the envisioned serene and peaceful life in the buildings, with a theme of naturalness and simplicity. Open-air spaces, common areas, and green spaces that encourage social interaction among users also play an important role.
