Seyrantepe housing project
Housing
2025
Despite the problems they create by distancing themselves from the urban scale, high-rise buildings can serve as a new identity for their surroundings through original and correct design decisions. The cylindrical residential building designed on a building plot near the stadium in Seyrantepe, Istanbul, can be described as an iconic structure visible from everywhere in its environment. This multi-story building, which serves as a point of reference, benefits from the difference in elevation on its site, resulting in different entrances. On the building plot bordering three streets, the lobby, social facilities, parking, and building entrance are defined separately.
The depth problem was solved by centering the core, and rational plan solutions with right-angled walls ensured efficient use of space. The building includes 1+1 and 2+1 apartment solutions.
The creation of different plan types emphasized the design of spaces that would appeal to different user types.
The balconies in the apartments were placed in a staggered manner, with variety in balcony location and length. A pattern was achieved between the floors in the entire facade, and a large part of the facade design was created by these balcony movements. The building's circular plan was continued in the facade elements and landscaping features. A curved canopy was added to the entrance at the social facilities level to emphasize the building's design. The circular columns positioned along the perimeter of the building are concealed on the upper floors but are revealed in the lobby and social facilities, reflecting the building's circular identity.
